Genuine Mongolian Shamanic Bells made in Mongolia (Two sizes available)

£41.00

These bells are hand forged in Mongolia by Mongolian Blacksmiths specifically for shamanic use. They feature a traditional decorative barley twist top and are the genuine article.

In Mongolia these bells, referred to as Tether bells (or Zel Honhinuur), are often attached to a shaman's costume in order to ward off evil spirits and to call the shaman's own spirits. These bells may also be attached to drums, bell sticks or other such tools for shamanic ritual purposes. As a result some costumes can weigh over 20 kilos!

Mongolian blacksmiths have a mystic tradition of their own going back several thousand years and they are believed to possess mystic powers of their own. They have a special affinity with fire spirits and such skill and mystical ability tends to be passed down the family line. Traditionally, shamans in Mongolia go to these blacksmiths to have various ritual items custom made for their costumes.

Originally the primary material was exclusively iron due to its mystical properties. These days steel is more readily used and Mongolian blacksmiths and shamans make no distinction between the two, considering both to possess the mystical properties needed for their work. The chimes offered here are among the best quality one can find in Mongolian smithing and, as mentioned above, are made specifically for shamanic use.

These are the genuine article (not copies) if you are looking for Shamanic Bells, they are also weighty, and each set is unique being hand forged. Expect a little of the coating to rub off onto your fingers and for them to feature occasional scratches.

Can be used as a necklace or amulet.

They are made of steel/iron.

The chimes come in two sizes:

Small: 10cm approximately (Including ring)
Large: 14cm approximately (Including ring)

Sizes may vary slightly
